Who we are
In today’s image-conscious world, where appearance can significantly impact self-esteem and overall mental health, the Psychology of Appearance Clinic offers an essential service: specialised psychological support for individuals considering or recovering from cosmetic and other appearance-related surgeries, as well as therapy for body image concerns. Many people find that surgical changes and body image concerns bring up complex emotions and challenges—often involving self-worth and personal identity—that benefit from skilled, professional guidance.
Our practice was founded by Dr. Emma Cosham and Dr. Zainab Noor, two clinical psychologists who bring a shared commitment to offering thoughtful, process-oriented care for individuals dealing with body image concerns. Together, they offer a unique, complementary partnership and therapeutic styles ensures that the space they create is nurturing and adaptable, no matter where a client is in their journey. They draw strength and insight from one another, ensuring that clients benefit not just from the expertise of two highly trained professionals, but from a collaborative approach that draws on the best of both worlds.
Dr Cosham and Dr Noor are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) to ensure a high standard of safety and professionalism. They actively participate in the British Psychological Society’s Cosmetic Surgery SIG, contributing to the field through published research in peer-reviewed journals.
